About Ylliah Jin
At the young age of 6, Ylliah Jin was introduced to the world of ballroom dance through her mother's fascination with this style of dance. Her mother's intentions were to instill some confidence and sociability in her introverted child. Once given the choice, Ylliah took up her first pair of tan-colored dance shoes to learn the basic steps of the dances once a week. The closeness and the warm beauty of the ballroom community persuaded her to stay for years. Four years later, she stepped onto her first competitive dance-sport floor for the Smooth and Rhythm styles and achieved high markings. Little did she know that this hobby would become an integral part of her person. Now, she has developed into a national title winner for the Standard and Latin styles. As an amateur dancer, she strongly believes she has much to learn from the experience and wisdom of the professionals who shaped ballroom dancing into what it is known as today. With her program and website, she hopes to encourage a wider range of the population, especially the younger generation, to try ballroom dancing and eventually understand that it is very different from being "old-fashioned" and "boring," as this dance form has evolved.
